Content of this 3D guide :

Lesson 1 - Maya Basic setup scenes for wirefusion
Lesson 2 - Installing plug-ins
Lesson 3 - Texturing and material for Wirefusion
Lesson 4 - Converting textures to baked material with maya software render
Lesson 5 - Converting textures to baked material with maya mentalray render
Lesson 6 - Exporting VRML2
Lesson 7 - Exporting X3D (VRML 97)

For this guide lessons we are working with Autodesk Maya 7.0 but you can achieve this with Maya 5.0, 6.0, 6.5 also.

To be sure you can working with Maya and Wirefusion you must check out if you can baking textures with your Maya version.

To understand rightly the goal of this guide you must be familliar with Maya and/or 3D applications, Wirefusion and know basic working with.

Lesson 7 – Exporting X3D (VRML 97) :

To avoid adding textures manually into your Wirefusion project, the best is using the Rawkee X3D Exporter (see lesson 2 about install Plug-ins)

As for VRML 2 Exporter go to the File menu and select Export All... little box !

When Export All Options window is open, select File Type to(1) Rawkee – VRML 97, (2) check Export Textures and delete Image File Sub-Directory if your rendered textures is into the same folder of you VRML 97 Exported file, (3) Uncheck Export Audio and (4) click on Export All.

Export it into the same folder of your project, here My_project.

Now you can go to Wirefusion and load exported VRML 97 file into 3D scenes.

As you can see with the Rawkee VRML 97 Exporter, your project file textures is correctly loaded into Wirefusion and no need anymore to add manually your project into Wirefusion !

This is the end of this 3D guide from using Autodesk Maya with Demicron Wirefusion, I hope you found it useful and understand now how to use this both worldclass applications !
